Roy Lawrence Crawford
California Baptist PastorPastor Roy Lawrence (R. L.) Crawford was born on March 29, 1925 in Oklahoma to Jesse Lawerence and Gladys Collins Crawford. He pastored Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Hayward, California for over 62 years. He married Zeta Ina Dodson and they had four sons: John Bunyan Crawford, Tarleton Perry Crawford, Timothy L. Crawford and Mark B. Crawford.
He started a program of missionary work in India and the Philippines; and also Landmark Baptist Schools. He spoke at many Bible conferences and held special meetings at churches across America.
He had a project of re-publishing many old Baptist books that had been out-of-print for many years. He was President of the Baptist Republication Society. He, along with R. L. Pound published Abstract of Systematic Theology by J. P. Boyce, which had originally been published in 1887. They also re-published History of the Welsh Baptists by J. Davis, which had originally been published in 1835. Both of these books had been out-of-print for many years. They published other books also.
He died on January 10, 2006 in Hayward at the age of 80.
