One Hundred and Twenty-First Anniversary of the Elkhorn Association,
HELD WITH THE Cane Run Baptist Church FAYETTE COUNTY KY., AUG. 29 AND 30, 1906.

Report on Schools and Colleges.

     Read by Bro. Blake. Discussed by Bros. Blake, Prestridge, Felix Eaton and Taylor.

     We will offer as our report the report made by Dr. T. T. Eaton at the General Association at Richmond.

GEORGETOWN COLLEGE

Was founded in 1829. It not has 285 students, 18 professors in all, property estimated at $160,000, and an endowment of $250,000. The trustees are elected by the Kentucky Baptist Education Society. Full college work is done. The institution is co-educational and is located at Georgetown. Dr. J. J. Taylor is President.

BETHEL COLLEGE
Is at Russellville. It has 120 students, male only, and seven professors. Its real estate is worth $75,000 and its endowment is $110,000. Full college work is done. The board of trustees is self-operating. Prof. W. H. Harrison is President.

BETHEL FEMALE COLLEGE
At Hopkinsville. Is a college of highest grade for young ladies. There are eighty-three pupils, forty of whom are boarders. Eight teachers in all. Property valued at $50.000 with only $100 endowment. The trustees are elected by Bethel Association. The highest quality of work is done. Dr. Edmund Hamson is President.

CLINTON COLLEGE
At Clinton, has enrolled an even hundred students. and has five teachers Prof. R. D. Swain is President. The range of study is what is known as Standard High School. They have property valued at $50,000 and $18,000 endowment. The board of trustees are self-perpetuating.

LIBERTY COLLEGE
Is at Glasgow: is presided over by Prof. George J. Burnett; and is owned by Liberty Association, which elects the trustees. The property is valued at $30,000, with no endowment. During the year, including all departments, there have been 329 students enrolled. The work is of highest order and the school is prospering greatly. An effort is being successfully pushed for raising $20,000 for enlargement.

WILLIAMSBURG INSTITUTE
Whose field is the Southern mountain region of Kentucky, has enrolled[ during the year 618 students, of both sexes. There are fourteen teachers. Their property is valued at $55,000, and they have an endowment of $56,000. The board of trustees is self-perpetuating, and they are all Baptists. Prof. E. E. Wood is the Principal.

THE BARBOURVILLE BAPTIST lNSTITUTE
Is also in the mountains. Their property is estimated at $7,000. They have had during the year 268 students, with five teachers. Prof. H. G. Greenwell has served as Principal for the past year. It is co-educational and is controlled by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees.

ONElDA lNSTITUTE
Is also co-educational and is located in Clay County. so famous is [in] feud history. It has property valued at $35,000. Including the branch school opened at Big Spring, there are eight teachers and 325 pupils. The Rev. J. A. Burns is President.

MAGOFFIN INSTlTUTE
At Salyersville, is stilI another Baptist school in the mountains, with Principal A. C. Harlowe at its head. It is co-educational, with four teachers and 158 pupils. The property is. estimated at $6,000. It is a new school and its needs are great.

THE OHIO VALLEY COLLEGE
At Sturgis, Ky., owing to financial troubles, has suspended exercises. President H. W. C. Sinley, however, has taken hold, and he expects to open in the fall with over 100 students and with a full faculty. The property is valued at $23,500, which, it is hoped, will soon be entirely free of debt.

BARDSTOWN BAPTIST INSTITUTE
Belongs to the Bardstown Baptist Chnrch. They have property worth $10,000, six teachers and fifty pupils. Prof. H. G. Brownell is in charge. The school is of high-school grade and is up to date. There is a debt of $4,000

LYNNLAND INSTITUTE
Under the charge of President W. B. Gwynn, is located on the main stem of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, fifty milles south of Louisville. It does high-class work, and it is co-educational. It has seven teachers, eighty-three pupils, and property worth $12,000. It is owned by the Principal, but is under the auspices of Salem and Severn's Valley Associations.

HAZARD BAPTIST INSTITUTE
Located at Hazard, is under the care of Principal A. S. Petrey. It has had 193 pupils during the year. The property is valued at $7,O00, and a new dormitory is being pushed. The Board of trustees is self-perpetuat ing, but three-fourths must be Baptists.

Besides these schools, we have another under way. It is to be located at Campbellsville and is to be known as the Russell Creek Baptist Academy. The committee appointed by the Russell Creek Association have secured $10,000 in valid subscriptions, and they are pressing their work.
